About us

Sharing Japan’s Home Cooking — The Key to a Long, Healthy Life
Japan’s home cooking has long been shaped by nature’s seasons and a spirit of balance. Rooted in the traditional “ichiju-sansai” style—one soup and three dishes—this way of eating promotes the health and longevity that Japan is known for.
Once handed down through generations, these heartfelt meals are now at risk of disappearing. At the Better Home Association, we are devoted to preserving and sharing this culinary heritage with sincerity, warmth, and purpose.

Sushi Making Experience
Udon & Tempura Cooking Experience
Enjoy a hands-on sushi-making class where you’ll prepare a colorful salad roll (makizushi) and a beautifully arranged selection of nigiri sushi.
Temari sushi and hand rolls (temakizushi) are also available as optional styles upon request.
After the cooking session, relax with a traditional matcha tea experience.
This class is perfect for first-time visitors to Japan who want to discover authentic Japanese flavors in a fun and interactive way.
Learn how to make thick, chewy udon noodles from scratch — knead, roll, and cut the dough by hand!
You’ll also watch a demonstration on how to make a flavorful homemade dipping sauce (mentsuyu) using traditional ingredients — a key part of enjoying udon the authentic way.
To complete your meal, you’ll fry up crispy vegetable tempura, the perfect complement to your freshly made noodles.
This class is ideal for travelers looking to experience the heart of everyday Japanese cooking in a relaxed, hands-on setting.
Ramen & Gyoza Cooking Experience
Enjoy a hands-on cooking experience where you’ll prepare a comforting bowl of soy sauce ramen. The distinctively Japanese-style (Wafu) flavor comes from the dashi-based broth that you will create entirely from scratch, and fresh, handmade toppings.
Following this, you will make juicy gyoza dumplings—crispy on the outside and tender inside.
The session concludes with a dessert-making experience: Fruit Daifuku (soft mochi filled with sweet bean paste and fresh fruit), followed by a traditional matcha tea moment.
This class is perfect for food lovers and curious cooks eager to explore authentic Japanese home-style cooking, in a fun and interactive way.
💡All classes are taught in English by experienced instructors, and recipes are provided so you can recreate the dishes at home.
